Suspect Charged in Shooting; Police Condemn Violence

The suspect, identified as Alexander Samuel of Conaree Village, was subsequently charged with Discharging a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place, Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life. He remains in police custody.

Cornell Warner of Conaree was struck by taxi bus T3948, driven by Samuel Glasford of Dieppe Bay. The accident happened around 3:45 a.m. on a Saturday as the taxi was traveling from Basseterre to the Frigate Bay Taxi Stand. Warner, who was walking from the golf course area onto the main road near Anchorage Road, sustained multiple injuries, including broken bones, and was transported to the JNF General Hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this accident.
