The vibrant energy of athletic achievement filled the auditorium of the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park on Thursday, May 8, 2025, as the Ministry of Education and Sports hosted a momentous awards ceremony to celebrate the outstanding performances showcased at the 2025 Interprimary Sports Meet. Sponsored by Gulf Insurance and BONI, the event recognized the dedication, skill, and sportsmanship of the young athletes who competed, culminating in the acknowledgment of top performers across various age groups and special award categories. Presiding over the ceremony were key figures in education and sports: Ms. Nichola Fraser, Education Officer; Mr. Jamir Claxton, Principal Assistant Secretary; and Mr. Aljay Newton, Director of Sports, underscoring the significance of the event within the educational and sporting landscape of the community.

The ceremony meticulously honored the top athletes in each grade level, starting with the youngest competitors in kindergarten. Alijonae Francis and Erielle Ross shared the title of female kindergarten champion, demonstrating early athletic prowess, while Jonas Hendrickson emerged as the male kindergarten champion. In Grade 1, Jhr’deira McPherson claimed the female championship, and Tejaune Edwards secured the male championship. The trend of celebrating both male and female athletic excellence continued through the grades, highlighting the inclusive nature of the competition. Shevonne Browne and C’Nayture Archibald emerged as the champions in Grade 2, followed by Akilah Douglas and Kamari Saddler in Grade 3. The Grade 4 champions were Aylissa Williams and Reuel Christmas, while Rone Isles and Te’adrian Tross took the top spots in Grade 5. Finally, Largie De’Myah and Jayden Wilkinson capped off the individual grade championships, representing Grade 6 with distinction.

Beyond individual grade achievements, the ceremony culminated in the presentation of the prestigious Victor Ludorum and Victrix Ludorum awards, recognizing the overall top male and female athletes across all grade levels. Te’adrian’s consistent performance secured him the Victor Ludorum title, while Aylissa’s impressive feats earned her the Victrix Ludorum award.
