The Ministry of Youth, Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities in St. Kitts is seeking a qualified and experienced bus driver to provide safe and reliable transportation services for its clients. Responsibilities Encompass Safe Transportation, Vehicle Maintenance, and Client Interaction

The selected bus driver will have a range of responsibilities, including the safe and timely transportation of clients to various destinations. This involves adhering to all traffic laws, assisting passengers with boarding and disembarking, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Furthermore, the driver will actively engage with clients, address any concerns they may have, and ensure their comfort throughout the journey. Regular vehicle maintenance, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, is essential to guarantee passenger safety and prevent breakdowns. Monitoring fuel consumption, mileage, and passenger numbers is also vital for operational efficiency.

Maintaining a Clean and Safe Vehicle is Paramount

Maintaining a clean and presentable vehicle is a key aspect of this position. The driver will be responsible for ensuring the bus is consistently clean and tidy, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to providing a comfortable and respectable service. This commitment extends to enforcing conduct and safety rules within the bus to maintain order and ensure passenger well-being during transit. Qualifications Include Proven Experience and a Clean Driving Record

Applicants must possess a proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating their competence in driving and client service. A clean driving record, free of traffic violations or vehicular accidents within the last three years, is mandatory. Working knowledge of first aid is also required to handle any minor injuries or emergencies that may arise during passenger transport. The chosen candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours, as they may be required to work additional hours to support Ministry events.
