Culturama 51 Preparations Underway: Nevis Gears Up for Another Spectacular Summer Lime

The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) is buzzing with activity as preparations for Culturama 51, Nevis’ premier cultural festival, gain momentum. Scheduled for July 24th to August 5th, 2025, this year’s festivities promise to be another vibrant celebration of Nevisian heritage, building on the resounding success of Culturama 50, touted as the largest and most successful iteration to date. With a dedicated committee already hard at work, plans are solidifying for an exciting lineup of events designed to showcase the island’s rich culture and entertain both residents and visitors alike.

The highly anticipated pageant competitions are also taking shape. While a full roster of contestants has been secured for the Mr. Kool and Miss Culture Swimwear segments, the search continues for two more participants to complete the Miss Culture Queen Pageant lineup. In keeping with global trends and to broaden the pool of potential candidates, the age limit for Miss Culture Queen has been raised to 28, encouraging talented, educated, and beautiful young women to seize this opportunity to represent Nevisian grace and intelligence.

Beyond the pageantry, Culturama 51 offers a diverse range of activities, including the ever-popular Art and Craft Food Fair, showcasing local culinary delights and handcrafted treasures. Music will pulsate through the island with the Soca Monarch competition and the Junior and Senior Kaiso competitions, promising a vibrant display of Nevisian musical talent. The infectious energy of the street parade, a highlight of the festival, will once again fill the streets with colour, music, and revelry. Registration remains open for all these events, inviting individuals and groups to participate and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of Culturama.

Adding to the pre-festival excitement, the winning slogan for Culturama 51 has been unveiled. "Nevisian Pride! Second to None! Culturama 51!" penned by Onisha Hunt of Hamilton Estate, perfectly captures the spirit of the festival and celebrates the unique cultural identity of Nevis. Miss Hunt will receive a well-deserved cash prize, a commemorative plaque, and complimentary tickets to all Culturama events, ensuring she has a front-row seat to experience the fruits of her creative inspiration.

Building on the success of last year’s milestone celebration, Culturama 51 is poised to be another remarkable event.
