St Kitts Ritz-Carlton Resort and Residences to Commence Construction in 2025

The island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis is poised for a significant elevation in its luxury tourism sector with the announcement of a partnership between Solidus Corp., Marriott International, Inc., and the government to develop The St. Kitts Ritz-Carlton Resort Hotel and Residences. This ambitious project, slated to open in the second quarter of 2028, marks the arrival of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton brand to the island, promising to redefine luxury hospitality in the region. The development represents a substantial investment in the island’s future, driven by the shared vision of Solidus Corp., Marriott International, and the St. Kitts and Nevis government to establish the nation as a premier luxury destination in the Caribbean.

The acquisition of the 252-acre Friars Bay Estate by Solidus Corp. forms the foundation of this transformative project. The sprawling estate, located on the picturesque Southeast Peninsula, provides an idyllic setting for the resort, offering breathtaking views and access to the island’s natural beauty. The resort’s design, envisioned as a ‘Kittitian Village,’ will seamlessly integrate modern luxury with the island’s unique charm and character. This innovative concept will provide guests with an immersive experience that celebrates the local culture and environment. The Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, hailed the agreement as a transformative moment for St. Kitts and Nevis, emphasizing the government’s commitment to economic growth and tourism excellence.

The St. Kitts Ritz-Carlton Resort Hotel and Residences is set to become a beacon of luxury hospitality, featuring 125 opulent guest suites, 10 branded villas, and 15 branded condominium residences. Guests will be treated to an array of world-class amenities, including a luxurious spa, multiple swimming pools, exceptional dining options, a dedicated Ritz-Carlton Beach Club, and the Ritz Kids Club. These carefully curated offerings are designed to cater to the discerning traveler, providing an unparalleled experience of comfort, elegance, and personalized service synonymous with the Ritz-Carlton brand.

Beyond the luxurious accommodations and amenities, the project carries significant economic implications for St. Kitts and Nevis. The construction phase is projected to create hundreds of jobs, injecting vital resources into the local economy. Upon completion, the resort is expected to generate approximately 250 permanent positions, offering sustainable employment opportunities for the local community. Furthermore, the project demonstrates a strong commitment to local engagement, with Solidus Corp. prioritizing the involvement of local contractors, consultants, and businesses throughout the development process. This localized approach ensures that the project benefits the community in a tangible and sustainable manner.

The Minister of Tourism, Hon. Marsha T. Henderson, echoed the Prime Minister’s sentiments, highlighting the project’s significance in positioning St. Kitts as a premier luxury destination. Minister Henderson emphasized the confidence that global brands like Ritz-Carlton and Solidus Corp. have demonstrated in the island’s potential, reinforcing the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth and empowering local talent. The project serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors to elevate the island’s tourism industry and showcase its unique beauty and charm to the world.

With preliminary geotechnical investigations, coastal engineering, and property surveying already underway, the project is on track to commence construction by the third quarter of 2025. Pamela Vasquez, Director of Development for Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America, expressed excitement about the project, emphasizing the Ritz-Carlton’s commitment to offering an unparalleled luxury experience that blends world-class service with the breathtaking beauty of the Caribbean.
