Young Nevisian’s Encouraged to Keep Island Clean In New Campaign

The Nevis Island Administration has announced a new campaign called Keeping Nevis Nice. The e-poster, released on the NIA website is aimed at young students around the island.

The poster shows the Premier, Mark Brantley, in cartoon form and contains five key messages:

  1. Pick Up Litter;
  2. Remember to Recycle;
  3. Keep Nevis Tidy;
  4. Respect Nature; and
  5. Inspire Others.

The poster, which was even picked up by international publication the Digital Journal, will be part of broader digital campaign that will too be hosted on the NIA’s website, focused on engaging young Nevisians with their surroundings and supporting their social development.

The new campaign shines a light on the natural beauty of the island; encouraging young Nevisians to have a sense of pride in its beaches, roads and venues. The Government has previously identified the issues of waste management and pollution as crucial issues impacting the islands long-term health.

It is also promising to see technology play an important part in how we educate our students. If our young Nevisians are to succeed, they will not only need to have a sense of pride in their island but also understand how important technology is in sharing information.
